Dwaun Johnson is a dynamic multimedia journalist and producer hailing from the vibrant city of Lafayette, Louisiana. Her unwavering commitment to the art of storytelling and her tireless pursuit of truth have cemented her as a distinctive presence in the realm of journalism.

Raised in Lafayette, Dwaun's journey into the world of journalism began with a solid educational foundation. Her formative years were spent at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School, where she developed an insatiable curiosity for knowledge and a profound affinity for effective communication. Continuing her academic voyage, she further honed her intellectual prowess at Teurlings Catholic.

Dwaun's steadfast dedication to her craft propelled her to the esteemed halls of Louisiana State University (LSU). There, she embarked on an academic odyssey that would lay the groundwork for her future career. At LSU, she delved deep into the intricacies of multimedia storytelling, amassing invaluable hands-on experience along the way.

In her quest to refine her skills and immerse herself in the rich tapestry of Louisiana's diverse communities, Dwaun made a pivotal choice to enroll at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. It was here that she delved into the heart of the state's culture, history, and societal dynamics. At Southern University, she discovered her true calling in multimedia journalism, seamlessly blending her academic knowledge with her fervor for storytelling.

Dwaun's dedication to her craft has illuminated untold narratives, celebrated local heroes, and given voice to those who often go unheard.

As the ever-evolving media landscape continues to shape the industry, Dwaun remains at the forefront, adapting to emerging technologies and innovative storytelling techniques.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Dwaun serves as a Media Team Mentor and devoted Parent Chaperone for A New Vision Leadership. She is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and, most importantly, a loving mother to her son, Julius.
