Akemi Briggs is your neighborhood Sr. Digital Content Producer and Vermilion Parish reporter.
As the Senior Digital Content Producer, Akemi is responsible for overseeing the content and growth of all KATC digital platforms. She works closely with news and on-air talent on web and social media engagement, as well as, across departments on station initiatives. Akemi contributes in creating strategies to make your experience on KATC’s digital platforms better.
Akemi is originally from New Orleans but has called Vermilion Parish home for over eight years. Akemi attended Nunez Community College in Chalmette, LA before transferring to Arizona State University.
Akemi is an active member of the Local Media Association and the American Meteorological Society.
