This is unprecedented territory for UL Women's Basketball.
After sweeping Texas State over the weekend, the Cajuns now sit in 1st place in the Sun Belt Western Division, with 9 games left to go.
"It's a lot on our plate, for being number one." UL Junior Guard Brandi Williams said. "Everybody is gunning for us. To be in this position, to say we're 6-1, number 1 in the conference. We have an opportunity to win our division. it's a great opportunity for us and were happy with where we're at right now."
The Cajuns are currently on a 6 game winning streak, including a perfect 5-0 since their 2-week hiatus due to COVID-19 protocols for their opponents.
In conference play, Louisiana ranks in the top 4 in scoring offense and defense, field goal percentage and 3 point percentage.
Being in the driver's seat of the West is new territory for the Cajuns, and they are cherishing the opportunity.

"You know, we've never really been in that position since we've been here. I love it," UL Head Coach Garry Brodhead said. "I think our kid's love it. They see the importance of the next, next game, next series. We have to keep winning to be able to stay there."
