Louisiana's 31-14 upset of No. 25 Iowa State Saturday caught the attention of college football and the Cajuns are being rewarded.
UL landing at No. 19 in the Associated Press poll, and No. 21 in the Coaches poll.
This is the Cajuns first time ever being ranked in the coaches or AP poll in the modern era. The program's last ranking was in 1943, when they were known as the Southwestern Louisiana Institute Bulldogs.
The Cajuns will play their first game as a ranked team Saturday, when they travel to Atlanta to face Georgia State. Kickoff is set for 11 AM and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
