NEW ORLEANS - — What a difference a year makes for Louisiana football

Entering Sun Belt Media Day 2018, it was the first year under head coach Billy Napier and the Cajuns were predicted to finish 4th in the Sun Belt Western Division.

Fast forward a year, the Cajuns are coming off a SBC West title, and are expected to repeat as the kings of the Division. With new expectations, UL has now shifted from the hunter to the hunted. But the Cajuns are up for the challenge.

"It’s certainly a different set of problems,” Louisiana Head Coach Billy Napier said. “You want to keep your team motivated. You gotta use different things to push buttons. I would hope our team is mature enough to handle it. We have a little bit of an edge about us."

The Cajuns begin their season August 31st against Mississippi State, in New Orleans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is set for 11 am, with the broadcast set to air on ESPNU.
