Louisiana Baseball is picked to finish 3rd in the Sun Belt Western Division, the league announced Monday.
The Cajuns receiving 52 votes, including 2 first place votes. Texas State is picked to win the West, while UT-Arlington is in 2nd. Coastal Carolina is expected to win the SBC East. This poll is decided by the 12 Sun Belt coaches.
Right-Handed Pitcher Conor Angel was UL's lone representative on the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team. The junior carried a 3.74 ERA, while holding batters to a .221 average in 21.2 innings, in 2020.
Louisiana will have a lot of fresh faces in 2021, as the Cajuns have 23 newcomers on their roster. UL opens the season this weekend in New Orleans, when they take on Tulane for a 3 game series. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
