LAFAYETTE (KATC) — On the heels of the program’s winningest season, Louisiana will look to build off last year’s 27-win season.

Louisiana returns three starters, Jakeenan Gant, Marcus Stroman and Malik Marquetti. The team’s noteable additions include freshmen R.J. Gladney, Trajan Wesley, Kristian Lafayette, and Kobe Julien, as well as JUCO transfer Jeremy Hayes.

The Cajuns open the year at home before the NIT Season Tip-off where the Cajuns play at Tennessee and Kansas. The Jayhawks are expected to be the number one team when they meet Louisiana November 16.

“It’ll be exciting. I’ve never coach there. I’ve talked to a lot of people who have and they say it’s the best environment,” said Marlin on Wednesday. “They’re going to be number one and they say Bill has his biggest and best team. Like coach Napier this weekend it’ll be an awesome experience for our guys and an opportunity for our guys to show people what we can do. And I’m sure it’ll help us in the long run regardless of the outcome.”
