HOUSTON, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Memphis on Sunday to close out play at the Rice Tournament hosted at Holloway Field.
Louisiana (1-5-2) keeper Victoria Ryan notched four saves in the contest, while Memphis (6-1-0) tallied 13 corners and 23 shots in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Memphis went in front 1-0 in the 36th minute on a goal from Carolina Duncan off of a corner kick.
The Tigers extended the lead to 2-0 early in the second half when Clarissa Larisey notched her seventh goal of the season in the 50th minute on a shot from just inside the 18-yard box.
Samantha Murphy put the game out of reach for Memphis in the 86th minute on a header goal to make the final 3-0.

The Ragin’ Cajuns open Sun Belt Conference play on Friday, Sept. 14 with a 7 p.m. contest at Troy. Following the matchup with the Trojans, Louisiana heads to Georgia Southern for a match on Sunday, Sept. 16.
