SEC Delays Fall Camp Until Mid August

The Southeastern Conference will delay fall football camp to August 17th, the league announced Tuesday.

The SEC stating in their press release that "The new SEC calendar provides student-athletes with more days off than required by the NCAA and fewer practices than permitted by current NCAA rules."

This new preseason calendar is in adjustment to the SEC football season starting later than usual, on September 26th.

In this revised schedule, schools from August 7-16 will be allowed to use up to 14 hours per week for strength and conditioning, meetings and walkthroughs.

Starting August 17th until the season opener, schools are allowed 25 practices with a limit of 20 total hours per week of practice time. There will be a ramp up, with two days in helmets only and two days in shells. The 5th day, full pads will be allowed.
