As of now, the location of the 47th Annual Bayou Classic is still New Orleans.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Southern University and Grambling University, releasing a joint statement Thursday saying the future of the Bayou Classic in 2020 and 2021 has not changed.

The decision would not be made until after the SWAC Council of Presidents and Chancellors have a meeting in late June.

This joint statement was released in response to Southern Athletic Director Roman Banks saying last Friday in a Board of Supervisors meeting, that the Classic would not be played in New Orleans this year. He also mentioned 3 potential sites: Southern's Mumford Stadium, LSU's Tiger Stadium and Independence Stadium in Shreveport, as places the game could move to and keep proper social distancing.
