In class 4A, Karr, Warren Easton, and Neville have dominated the landscape over the last decade. The group has produced every state champion since 2014. Now, all 3 are in the semifinals this season.

For one seed Carencro, their road to a 4A title will literally go through the best.

The bears will host Neville in the semifinals Friday. For Carencro, they're coming off their most impressive win of the year, an 81-14 beatdown of Plaquemine in the quarterfinals.

The bears are now in the semis for the first time since 2011. If they want to punch their ticket to Turpin, they'll have to slow down the speed of the tigers.

"It's something we never really experienced, seeing that we're Carencro high," said senior safety Bailey Despanie. "We're most likely the fastest team on the field. We had a good competition with STM and Westgate. I feel like we're prepared for this moment."

"They're well trained and well-coached," said head coach Tony Courville. "When we play a team full of speed, it's the Westgate's of the world. Well, they have the same speed or maybe even quicker in some of the spots.">
