High school football is having an immense issue juggling COVID cases. In many cases one positive test is enough to cancel two weeks of games. KATC will continue trying to keep this schedule up-to-date in a timely manner, but please bare with us through this ever changing landscape.

Game of the Week: 1. Acadiana at 4. Lafayette
Rekindling the fire an old rivalry, Lafayette and Acadiana meet in one of the most meaningful match-ups between these two teams, one that decides the district 3-5A title. This time around a coaching change headlines the chapter. Former Rams assitant Cedric Figaro returned to his Alma Mater this offseason, and has rebranded the Lions' name with a 5-0 record. Figaro won a few rings at Acadiana and both sides have mutual respect.

"Those kids over there are my family, they're my sons, I love them but I'm going to beat them if I can and they know it," Figaro said. "It's a fun thing. It's family. When you get together and play with family, you still want to win. That's the deal. It's family, we're going to play together, but I don't know how much family there will be on Friday night."

"There is a lot of respect with coach Fig. They're a great coached team and have a lot of great players," said Acadiana defensive linemen Cam George. "They're well coach, so it's going to be a great game between two great programs with great coaches."

Acadiana has long had the upper-hand in this rivalry. Lafayette hasn't beaten Acadiana since 2006, the last time these two played in a game of this magnitude. That season Lafayette, Acadiana and Sulphur split the district title. Acadiana went on to beat the Tors in the 5A state championship.

Lafayette last won the district title outright in 2001.
