ABBEVILLE — For two years, Vermilion Catholic has been right at the door of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Two years ago, it was a last second field goal lifted LCA to the Division Four state championship game. Then last year, it was a loss to Ascension Catholic in the semifinals that ended their run.
In 2019, the Eagles believe it's their time to fly to new heights.
Vermilion Catholic knows they have the depth to go all the way and aren't shying away from the high expectations
"We think about that as a goal for us," Vermilion Catholic Senior Linebacker Jacques Touchet said. "Yes, we haven't reached it yet. Yes it's in the back of our heads. It's always something we're thinking about and working towards."
"We're right there. To make that next step, were in the right process," VC Head Coach Kevin Fouquier said. "I tell my kids all the time, trust the process. And we're right there."
