According to Nola.com, Saints Quarterback Drew Brees is scheduled Wednesday for surgery on his thumb.
"I'm confident in the surgery that will take place and will dedicate myself to the rehab process to get back as quickly as I can," Brees said in a text message to ESPN.
The injury, a torn ligament in the thumb of his throwing hand, came during the Sunday, September 15 game against the Los Angeles Rams. According to that report Tuesday, there is no timetable for Brees' return but he is expected to be out for about six weeks.
