LAFAYETTE (KATC) — The University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Soccer head coach Scot Wieland has resigned his position and will not return for the 2019 season. The news follows an announcement by Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard on Monday.

STATEMENT FROM LOUISIANA ATHLETICS

“We greatly appreciate Scot’s efforts in leading the Louisiana Soccer program, and for being a positive influence in the lives of so many student-athletes,” Maggard said.  “We wish Scot the very best with his future endeavors.”

Wieland led the Ragin’ Cajuns for 14 seasons (2005-18), compiling a 93-143-32 record.

Louisiana Athletics will immediately begin a national search for its next head coach. Assistant coach Lisa Mann will serve as the acting director of the Soccer program during the search process.
