A candlelight vigil was held Saturday night to honor James Darby, who was killed Monday in an Abbeville shooting.

The vigil was held in the 400 block of Dutel St, near where Darby was killed earlier this week.

Abbeville Police have identified a suspect in the case, but have not released that information because of the ongoing investigation.

KATC spoke with Darby's mother, Denise Boudreaux, earlier this week on how she is not giving up through this difficult time. She and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Family and friends of Darby said the vigil was to spread the message that everyone matters.

"They need to stop the senseless killing. Lives do matter. All lives. Pick up a book, put down the gun. Learn something."
