The City of Youngsville honored a native who was recently placed on a world stage.
Andrew Stevenson was recognized by the council tonight and was also given a key to the city, according to a Facebook post by city officials.
Stevenson is an outfielder for the Washington Nationals, who won the 2019 World Series in October.
KATC spoke with Stevenson's family as he prepared to play in the biggest game in baseball.
Stevenson played for St. Thomas More in high school and played in two College World Series while at LSU.
The Nationals beat the Astros 6-2 to take home their first World Series title.
