6:00 am - KATC continued Live coverage of Hurricane Delta. Watch Live.

Friday, October 9, 2020

7:00 pm - Hurricane Delta is now a Category 1 storm moving further inland. Damage across Acadiana has been reported.

6 p.m. - Hurricane Delta has made landfall in Creole, Louisiana, as a Category 2 storm.

3:45 pm - Hurricane Delta is a Cat 2 storm nearing landfall.

1:00 pm - Gov. John Bel Edwards provides update on state's response to Hurricane Delta. Watch live

12:00 pm - Lafayette Consolidated Government holds press conference on Hurricane Delta preparations. Watch live

10:30 am - Abbeville sets a mandatory curfew for the city starting on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020. Starting Saturday, October 10, 2020 the city of Abbeville will have a "dusk to dawn" curfew for the city until further notice. See more curfews.

8:30 am - Point Blue Water systems alerting residents to be prepared to experience a loss in water pressure as Hurricane Delta knocks out power to Evangeline Parish.

8:00 am - Hurricane Delta, currently a Category 3 storm with winds at 120 mph, has begun to move North towards the Southwest Louisiana coast. Landfall is expected in the afternoon/ evening hours on Friday as a Category 2. See the latest weather update.

7:00 am - Police ask that residents refrain from sightseeing during and after Hurricane Delta makes landfall. See their plea to drivers.

5:00 am - Conditions along the Atchafalaya River at Berwick and Morgan City are calm this morning. Abby Breidenbach provides an update.
