Events canceled, postponed due to weather

Due to severe weather predicted for Friday evening into Saturday morning, a number of events are announcing cancellations or reschedules for this weekend.

Bach Lunch
Bach Lunch on Friday, October 25 has been canceled due to inclement weather. Organizers say the concert series will continue next week as scheduled.

Downtown Alive
Downtown Alive has been canceled for Friday, October 25. Organizers say it is due to the weather. A post on their Facebook page states, "Downtown Alive will NOT move to Rock'n'Bowl this week. Instead, we plan to book these two bands again next season, hopefully on a sunnier day."

Girl Scouts Family Fest at Camp Bon Temps
Organizers say the Girl Scouts Family Fest at Camp Bon Temps scheduled for Saturday, October 26, has been canceled. The event was to last from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Camp Bon Temps in Breaux Bridge.

The 2019 Halloween Art and Nature Festival set for Saturday, October 26 has been postponed due to weather. Organizers say the event will now take place on November 2 in Arnaudville. For information on the event, click here.

The 2019 Grand Coteau Sweet Dough Pie Festival has been canceled. There is no word on if the festival will be rescheduled. Find updates on the festival's Facebook page.

Music and Market in Opelousas canceled.

Movies Under the Stars’ Canceled for Friday, Oct. 25 - the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury says the last feature of their fall "Movies Under the Stars" series has been canceled. Tonight's showing was Casper. The spring series will return in April 2020.

ACT Test scheduled for Saturday, Oct 26 at Opelousas High School has been canceled. A new date will be announced at a later date.

Due to weather, Fright Trail in Scott will not open on Friday. Organizers say it should be open as normal Saturday and Sunday.

The 20th Annual St. Hubert's Benevolent Society Squirrel Cookoff scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 26, at Willie's in Washington has been postponed due to weather.
