LAFAYETTE (LOUISIANA ATHLETICS) — Junior outside hitter Hali Wisnoskie, a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection and the 2017 SBC Freshman of the Year, was chosen to represent Louisiana Volleyball on the 2019 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team.

Announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon, it’s the second consecutive season Wisnoskie is named to the preseason list.

Wisnoskie has led Louisiana in kills per set and ranked Top 10 in the Sun Belt in the category each of the past two seasons.

The Columbus, Texas product is coming off a second straight 300-plus kills campaign, netting 331 kills on a career best 2.96 per set average in 2018 which landed her on the All-Sun Belt Second Team. Wisnoskie hit .200 or higher in 17 of her 21 double-digit kill performances and on four occasions posted 18 kills or more with a .350-plus hitting percentage.

Wisonskie has produced 39 career double-digit kill outings and carries a career .230 hitting percentage into the 2019 season. She generated 663 kills over her first two collegiate seasons.

Louisiana placed at least one individual on the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team for the third straight season.

In the preseason poll, the Ragin’ Cajuns were picked fifth in the ever-so-tough SBC West Division with only four points separating the squad from third place.

Louisiana (15-15, 7-9 SBC in 2018) is set to open preseason practice on Saturday, Aug. 10, beginning preparations for the 12th season under the guidance of head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot.

Fans can get a glimpse of the 2019 squad during the Vermilion and White Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. inside Earl K. Long Gym, followed by Fan Day festivities at the Cajundome Convention Center on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Louisiana travels to Houston on Saturday, Aug. 24 for an exhibition match at Houston Baptist, then officially begins the 2019 season by kicking off a season-opening, seven-match homestand the weekend of Aug. 30-31 with the DoubleTree Classic at Earl K. Long Gym.
