St. Martin Parish President Chester Cedars is asking residents to prepare for the worst.

Residents say they are ready for whatever Barry will bring.

The crew at Cafe Sydnie Mae in Breaux Bridge have spoken with customers who say they have done what they can to get ready ahead of the storm.

Some business owners are moving in patio chairs and tables and most are getting ready to close early for tonight's 10 p.m. curfew.

David Puckett from Cafe Sydnie Mae said they are closing the restaurant earlier even though they have guests that have made reservations for tonight, saying they will honor those.

Otherwise, "we'll just have to take it one hour, one day, one step at a time...we just don't know what it's going to do."

Residents who do not wish to stay and who need help evacuating should call the Office of Emergency Preparedness at 394-2808.
