More heat and humidity will bake Acadiana as high pressure remains in place over the western Gulf of Mexico.
And if you can believe it highs could be even hotter on Sunday reaching the upper 90s as winds turn a little more westerly pushing some of the slightly drier and hotter air from Texas over the region.
But there will still be enough humidity to push heat indices up to about 104-108.
And unfortunately there is not much relief from the heat as we move into the work week as highs continue to be in the mid 90s with feel like temperatures topping out between 105-109.
It won't be until the end of next week before we see a bit more clouds and a 30-40% chance for a few scattered showers as moisture from the potential system in the East Gulf heads our way to help cool things off briefly.
