The tropics are maintaining their active status, especially with a new system in the southern Gulf.

For us in Acadiana, we have elevated rain chances through the weekend. We may see scattered showers throughout the morning and afternoon. It's best to keep the umbrella handy. Especially as we head into the weekend, we can see a little bit more in the way of activity as moisture from Invest 98L moves in.

We manage to remain around average the last couple of days. Highs in the 90s and overnight lows in the 70s, and this is expected to continue over the weekend.
