Quiet start to the week, but a very wet finish

It’s a quiet forecast to start what is going to be a wet, busy week in Acadiana.

Monday is a pretty standard May forecast, it’ll be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the upper 80s and manageable humidity.

This will be the last quiet day we get this week, so any outdoor chores you need to take care of this is your last chance to do so before the rain begins.

The majority of the day Tuesday will be quiet but the clouds will start to build and it looks like the showers will start to move in late Tuesday evening.

Once they start it’ll be a week until we see a break in the action with showers continuing for days and days.

A front is moving in and stalling this week which will be responsible for the consistent rainfall as that front doesn’t look like it’ll move much until the end of the weekend.

The rain total numbers don’t look eye popping despite a wet week over the course of about a week we’ll sit at about 3-5″ worth of rain.

That’s a solid amount but with breaks in the action the ground will have a chance to drain and soak up the showers in between rounds of active rain.

So enjoy the sunshine while we have it on Monday because it’ll come at a premium for the better part of a week.
