Summer sticking around for one more day then fall arrives

For all you ready for fall and cooler temperatures it is coming but we are going to have to deal with one more summer like day with warm and humid conditions.

Highs on Wednesday will top out in the lower 90s with feel like temperatures flirting with triple digits.

Futurecast Temperatures

This is because we will get some compression heating out ahead of a cold front which will be swinging through Acadiana Wednesday afternoon.

Once this front sweeps through the region it will bring with it drier and cooler air to Acadiana as lows Thursday morning will drop into the low to mid 60s.

With a steady northerly breeze near 10-15 mph Thursday afternoon that will hold highs in the lower 80s.

Futurecast Winds

The winds should then die down in the evening allowing lows Friday morning dip down into the mid to upper 50s!

Definitely an opportunity to turn the AC off and open the windows.

After the cool start temperatures Friday afternoon might only top out in the upper 70s under bright sunny skies.

This weekend temperatures will start to creep back up again as winds turn out of the ESE but it should still be nice for UL Homecoming and Festival Acadien with highs in the low to mid 80s on Saturday.

Sunday humidity levels will start to come back up as the southerly flow pushes Gulf moisture over Acadiana with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

The good news is the warm up will be short lived as another much stronger cold front looks to swing through Acadiana on Monday bring with it a few scattered showers and storms Monday afternoon.

But this front looks to bring with it a lasting shot of fall weather as highs all next week will be in the 70s with lows in the 50s.
