Quiet in the short term, possible rain next week

There’s little left to say about this forecast that hasn’t been discussed several different times with various different words for maybe over an entire week now, such is summer weather.

So it should come as no surprise to learn that the heat index on Thursday will once again push up into the triple digits ranging just below Heat Advisory criteria but still plenty hot.

It also shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that in the afternoon there will be a chance or two for a passing shower and few rumbles of thunder as the atmosphere is filled with moisture (again not a surprising fact).

As long as this ridge stay firmly entrenched to our east, which it usually does in the summer, there isn’t much hope for a change for the remainder of the work week/weekend.

If you feel inclined to peak out into the long term forecast to start planning for next week, that’s when the weather starts to become a little more interesting and unsettled.

A wave of moisture is expected to move in from the east and ride the coast through next week, bringing a round of showers and storms to the area which should last for a few days.

It’s unlikely that it will be continuous uninterrupted rainfall but it’s shaping up to be fairly wet through the start of the week and possibly into the 4th of July holiday.

The finer details have yet to reveal themselves as it still a little way out but we should get a better picture of timing and precipitation totals over the next several days.
