After a gloomy and rain day on Thursday we will have plenty of sunshine on Friday heating things up across Acadiana as highs will top out in the lower 90s.

Add in the humidity this afternoon and feel like temperatures will rise into the triple digits making it a perfect day to go to the pool to try to cool off.

The summer heat and humidity will continue this weekend as highs will be in the lower 90s Saturday and Sunday with heat indices touching 103-105 under mostly sunny skies.

No real changes to the forecast even as we head back to work next week as high pressure will be situated over top the southeast keeping rain chances on the low side around 10-20% each afternoon.

With all the sunshine next week temperatures could climb as high as 93-94° with the heat index getting up to about 105-107.

As we move back into the summer pattern remember to wear sunscreen, hats and sunglasses if you are hanging out by the pool or beach as right now the sun is at its highest angle in the sky so it only takes about 15-20 minutes for you to start developing a sunburn.

Also, if you have to work outside make sure you are drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and to take breaks often.
