Warm and muggy through the week

If you were hoping that spring was going to last a little longer this year then Wednesday morning served as a reminder that spring south Louisiana is fleeting and summer arrives quickly.

An incredibly muggy and warm pattern has set up in Acadiana and with temperatures not making it out of the mid-70s it was very reminiscent of a July morning.

This warm start was brought out by plenty of clouds which trapped in temperatures, although those clouds will thing out as we go through the day opening up the door for a sunny afternoon.

Look for the highs to push into the upper 80s Wednesday and the heat index will start to work its way up to around 90 in the afternoon, the first 90-degree heat index of many this summer.

Clouds will build through the rest of the work week with scattered showers popping up across the area on Saturday as a poorly defined front moves through the area.
