The Abbeville City Council has appointed Billy Noegel to serve District A until a new council member is elected this fall.
Neal Richard was elected to the seat this past spring, but he died in June. To see our story about him, click here.
At Tuesday's council meeting, Noegel was appointed and sworn in.
"We congratulate Councilman Noegel and thank him for his willingness to serve our community," a post by the City states. "Please join us in welcoming him to the Abbeville City Council."
