It is a cool start to our Friday and with high clouds moving over Acadiana temperatures will not be as warm as the past couple days as highs will only top out in the lower 70s.

Clouds will continue to thicken through the overnight into Saturday but we should stay dry which is great news for the UL Spring football game.

Saturday evening a few stray showers will be possible but showers and storms will become more widespread Sunday morning as a cold front swings through Louisiana.

We will have to watch this line of storms as the Storm Prediction Center has Acadiana under a marginal risk(5%) for a couple storms to turn severe weather with damaging wind gusts and large hail as the main threats but a quick spin up tornado can not be ruled out.

Rainfall amounts should be only around half an inch so we will not need to worry about flooding.

Once the front moves through by lunchtime Sunday we will see some peeks of sunshine warming temperatures into the mid 70s.

Clouds could linger into the Monday wrapping around the storm system holding temperatures in the lower 70s for highs on Monday but sunshine will return Tuesday pushing temperatures into the mid 70s.
