Zion to miss 6-8 weeks with knee injury

NEW ORLEANS — Zion Williamson will miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn right lateral meniscus.

New Orleans announced the injury Monday, saying he underwent surgery to repair his injured knee.

New Orleans opens the season Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors.

The Pelicans drafted Zion with the first overall pick in this summer's NBA draft. The Duke product is the most anticipated player to come into the league since LeBron James.
