Louisiana basketball leaned on a 20-2 run in the second half to beat LSU-Shreveport 84-73 in Saturday's home opener. The Cajuns move to 2-1 on the season.
Theo Akwuba, Dou Gueye, and Mylik Wilson each recorded double-doubles.
Akwuba scored 17 and pulled in 11 rebounds, not miss a shot for the second time in three games. For the season the Portland transfer is 21-24, averaging 18.3 points-per-game, and 11.3 rebounds.
Wilson, who's shooting struggles continued, played aggressive around the rim, the guard pulled down 10 rebounds, and scored 14 points.
Gueye cashed in on one of Louisiana's six three-point shots scored a career high 17 points, and season best 11 rebounds.
Louisiana plays LSU-Alexandria Tuesday.
