Ron Roberts is in his second season as the Defensive Coordinator for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football program. This year Louisiana's defense ranked first in the Sun Belt in points allowed, second in yards allowed. He's leaving to join Dave Aranda, LSU's former defensive coordinator who was introduced at Baylor's head coach on Monday.
Aranda is replacing Matt Rhule, who has been hired to coach the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
“We are extremely grateful for Coach Ron Roberts and the contributions he made to our football organization," Napier said in a statement. "Under Ron’s leadership, our defense made tremendous progress this past season, ranking as one of the most improved defensive units in the nation. We wish him and his family the best of luck going forward.”
