The report from the former Advocate writer falls on the heels of Football Scoop's report that athletic director Bryan Maggard is preparing to replace the second year head coach.
Napier is a hot name in coaching, having led the Cajuns to their first 10-win season. He's been linked to the head coaching jobs a Arkansas, Missouri, and Ole Miss.
In October, Louisiana extended Napier through the 2023 season.
Two weeks ago, during his mid-week press conference Napier was asked bout the prospects of his assistants being hired away, Napier had this to say.
“All of these guys probably had an understanding coming in that our intentions were to be successful and to help develop them,” Napier said, “certainly opportunities come with that.
