Louisiana women's basketball will not play this weekend, postponed against UT-Arlington because of a Covid within the Lady Mavericks' program.

The Cajuns, who haven't played since January 2, had its last series postponed against Little Rock because of Covid, too. The team isn't scheduled to play again until January 22.

Head coach Garry Brodhead spoke with the Advocate Wednesday, he worries about how the scheduling will balance out if the team is to play a condensed schedule to make-up games.

"I’m worried that we’re going to do all of this because of COVID, but then what’s going to end up happening is getting a lot of injuries in the process," he told the Advocate. "Four games in five days is tough. Will their bodies hold up?”

Louisiana athletics says the Cajuns are seeking to play a conference opponent this weekend, but nothing official has been scheduled.

The Cajuns have had seven games postponed, half of the total games scheduled so far.
