As Louisiana football nears spring practices, the team's coaching staff will look a fair bit different in 2021 with a handful of new faces in the coaches room.

"There are a lot of positives that come from turnover and attrition," said head coach Billy Napier. "It's a natural part. We're just fortunate that it's a result of success; we could be replacing people because they didn't do a good job."

The headlining change comes as the New York Giants hired offensive line coach Rob Sale, though linebackers coach Austin Armstrong (So. Miss DC) and LaMar Morgan (Vandy CBs) also took promotions this off-season.

The Cajuns are reportedly hiring FAU's offensive line coach Jeff Norrid to replace Sale, while Sam Houston's offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton is reportedly being hired to serve as the team's assistant line coach, a spot that was most recently held by the late DJ Looney. The team also added Galen Scott to coach linebackers.

"It's no different than recruiting young men to come play for you. When you have the type of program we have here it helps you recruit coaches and hire good coaches as well," said Napier.

LaMar Morgan's vacancy remains open; Louisiana has also yet to name an offensive coordinator.

The Cajuns begin spring practices March 16th and the spring game will be played under the lights April 22nd.
