LSU softball released its schedule Thursday, and there is no series listed with the Ragin' Cajuns. But the two may play.
Louisiana is listed as an attendee of the LSU Invitation, a tournament that the Tigers will host February 25-28. The tournament, which also feature Buffalo and Oklahoma State, could set Louisiana up to meet the Tigers in the regular season for the second straight year. Last season the Cajuns and Tigers split a home-and-home series. Louisiana won five games against top-10 teams in 2020.
The Cajuns full schedule is not out. We already know the team will also play Louisiana Tech. An April series against Alabama is also found on the Crimson Tide's official schedule. Both LSU (5) and Alabama (8) rank in the top-10 of the D1 Softball preseason poll. Oklahoma State, who the Cajuns could see in Baton Rouge, rank 10th.
