In an empty home gym, Louisiana volleyball is very quietly making waves and chasing school history.

The Cajuns swept ULM over the weekend moving to a perfect 11-0 on the season, the second best start in program history. The 1990 team started the year 13-0. Louisiana

Louisiana's fast start comes to a head when the Cajuns host Texas State Friday and Saturday. The no. 15 Bobcats are often the class of the Sun Belt and carry their own 8-1 record into the meeting.

"Always a big match to play Texas State at home," said head volleyball coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot. "Our kids tend to respond. In the scenario we're in right now, the last thing I want to think about is continuing our undefeated streak, what I want to focus on is the our undefeated conference streak. Because at the end of this is an AQ (automatic qualifying) bid to the NCAA tournament in the spring."

Louisiana has lost just four sets this fall.
