Louisiana's first true road game will offer up the usual challenges.
Communication, travel and sleep, but most players will tell you no two road games are alike.
For Cajuns' Ferrod Gardner, Saturday's match-up will be the first time he has played back in his home state of Ohio.
Gardner, a senior, grew up about about 115 miles west of Athens in Dayton. Since graduating high school, he's played football across country in Mississippi and Louisiana.
"It's a real blessing. My family has been trying to see me play because they can't make it down to Louisiana," Gardner said. "This is the closest game they can see me play. It's been a long college journey and this is the first time they get to see me live. So I know this is big for them, but it's also big for me."
