Extra senior season could cost Louisiana $500K

Louisiana Athletic director Dr. Bryan Maggard said the eligibility relief the NCAA is discussing for senior spring athletes could cost the University $500,000.

Eligibility relief remains one of the most talked about agendas for the NCAA in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Maggard released a two page statement on social media Monday outlining some athletics updates. that statement is linked below. One of those updates was on lost revenue each Sun Belt School could see.

Dr. Maggard said each school in the Sun Belt Conference, on average, will lose between $200,000-300,000 from lost NCAA Tournament income. In his statement he explains that majority of revenue schools get from the NCAA comes from the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. Money school won't get this season.
