LAFAYETTE — It was just two weeks ago when it looked like Louisiana head football coach Billy Napier was headed to the SEC.

Reports had him as a trendy hire at Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Missouri.

But the Rebels landed Lane Kiffin.

Arkansas hired Sam Pittman.

And Missouri grabbed Appalachian State's Eli Drinkwitz.

Napier remains a Cajun.

It's great news for a program who is trending up. Louisiana recorded it's first 10-win season in program history and got an AP All-American.

"We heard a lot, we didn't really ponder it," said senior defensive back Deuce Wallace. "It was brought up because we're on social media and it was everywhere. But there wasn't any concern because we're more concerned on this 11th win and stuff like that."

Napier is 17-10 as Louisiana's head coach. Seven of those losses come to SEC schools or Appalachian State.
