LAFAYETTE — Louisiana running back Raymond Calais earned the Sun Belt's Offensive Player of the Week award after rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the Cajuns' 37-20 win at Arkansas State last Thursday.
Calais is the the fourth Cajun to earn a weekly award this season, second offensive player this year. The Breaux Bridge native has won the award twice during his career. He won one last Novemeber follwoing the team's win against Georgia State.
The 5-2 Cajuns have rushed for 300 or more yards three times this year, including Thursday's win. Calais' 480 yards ranks him third on the team. He also has four touchdowns and is averaging 9.5 yards-per-carry.
