Louisiana soccer opened the 2020 season Friday with a 2-0 shutout over Abilene Christian.
The first goal of the season came in the 18th-minute of the first half. WVU transfer Lizzy Mayfield tallied her first goal in the vermilion and white. Assist to Skyla Sykes.
Louisiana led 1-0 at half.
In the second Julianne Debluieux gave Louisiana a bit of a cushion with a goal in the 76th minute.
Louisiana sat through a 30-minute lightening delay before finishing off the season-opening win.
The Cajuns play at South Alabama Sunday.
