In the past 12 months COVID controlled the schedules. A virus decided who played where, when and in front of how many people. As spring sports begin it's a wild winter storm handing out new start times likes Oprah.

After handing Louisiana softball four different start dates, Cajuns baseball got the often rare "bump up" as Louisiana's season opener at Tulane, originally scheduled for 6 p.m., will now be played under daylight at 2 p.m. The photographers are thankful. The Cajuns will play three at Tulane before coming home Tuesday to play Louisiana Tech, then LSU on Wednesday.

Meanwhile in Baton Rouge, the Tigers' first pitch is being pushed back a day. LSU will now open the season Saturday against Air Force at 1 p.m. the tigers play Air Force and Notre Dame this weekend before facing Louisiana Tech on Monday.
