Cajuns split double at Texas

AUSTIN — Two Bailey Curry home runs supplied Louisiana with it's four runs in a double-header at no. 3 Texas Tuesday.

The Cajuns splitting the results winning 3-2 in game one, before losing 2-1 in game two.

Down 1-0 in the fifth inning of game one, Curry's three run home run gave the no. 7 Cajuns their 12th win of 2020. Megan Kleist earned the win. She allowed two runs on six hits, striking out four in game.

The Cajuns needed to work from behind again in the second game of the double-header. Colleen Sullivan supplied the Longhorns with a second inning run off of Summer Ellyson. Louisiana had a runner thrown out at the plate in the third, but later tied the game in the fourth on Curry's second home run of the day.

In the sixth, a Shannon Rhodes blooper falls scoring the game winning run in Texas's 2-1 victory.

The Cajuns move to 12-4 on the season, three of the four losses coming against top-10 teams. Louisiana is 3-3 against such opponents.

Louisiana faces no. 6 Florida this weekend in Gainsville for a three-game series.
