LAFAYETTE — Cajuns' senior guard Kevin Dotson will play in the LendingTree bowl, saying he did gave sitting out a thought.

"You have to consider it. You never know what can happen to you. You have to think about your future," Dotson told reporters.

The senior guard was the program's first AP All-American selection this season. Pro Football Focus graded him as the country's top interior linemen.

Still, the senior hasn't received much draft traction. Dotson says the bowl is a great way to stay sharp and prepared for the East-West Shrine game.

"It can help my stock. It can help me for my bowl game," he added. "I considered that, weighed the options and considered my teammate and being able to see them for a few more weeks. I think it's worth it."

Louisiana's other NFL prospects will also play, except for linemen Robert Hunt who missed games at the end of the season while dealing with an injury. Hunt will also miss the Senior Bowl.
