Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Brandon Young signs as a free agent with the Baltimore Orioles Sunday after going undrafted in the Major League Baseball draft.
The right-handed pitcher transferred to UL as a junior, after pitching two years at a community college. As a Cajun, the senior struck out 109 batters in his 79 career innings with an impressive 1.09 ERA.
Before the draft, Young said, "I want to play some professional baseball and give it a shot. Talking with Deggs, he's been good to me in the sense he wants me to play pro ball. This year he wants me to go get my shot."
