No. 19 Louisiana defeat Georgia State 34-31
In OT, Erath native Elijah Mitchell scored the game winning 12 yard TD for the Cajuns. Mitchell finished with a game high 164 yards and 2 TDs in the victory. 143 yards and both scores were in the 2nd half or OT. QB Levi Lewis finished 21-37 for 279 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs.
UL's defense kept the Cajuns in it in the first half, forcing 2 Panthers turnovers.
The Cajuns advance to 2-0 on the season.
Next up, Louisiana hosts their home opener, when they take on Georgia Southern next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 11 am at Cajun Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
