LAFAYETTE (KATC) – A season ago Kyle Pfau filled a late void at kicker, and did so hitting 15-of-18 field goals. Pfau graduated and this year Stevie Artigue is back and ready to chase the school’s record for points by a kicker.
The Lafayette native is a three-year starter coming off an ACL injury that cost him 2018. He is just 60-points behind Brett Baer’s point record.
Artigue told reporters Tuesday he believes the injury will only make him better this year.
“I think I’m ahead of where I was before the injury. I learned a lot mentally throughout the process. I’d say I was a little arrogant before the injury, but it humbled me, and put me where I need to be.”
