Cajuns return to the road at Georgia Southern Thursday

LAFAYETTE (Press Release) – After a three-game homestand, Louisiana Women’s Basketball (6-15, 4-6 SBC) hits the road for the Georgia swing, starting with Georgia Southern (6-14, 1-8 SBC) on Thursday, Feb. 7 in Statesboro, Ga., with tip scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT.

HOW TO WATCH/LISTEN/FOLLOW: Thursday’s game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Danny Waugh (PxP) handling the call, and the link to find the game can be found by clicking here.  Steve Peloquin will handle the radio call, with the game being broadcast on ESPN 1420AM.  Live stats will be provided courtesy of the Georgia Southern Athletic department and they can be found by clicking here.

PREVIEWING THE GAME: Louisiana and Georgia Southern last matched up on Jan. 12, at the CAJUNDOME, with Louisiana coming away with a 59-48 win for its second of what would be a three-game winning streak during the heart of January.  The game at Hanner Fieldhouse will be the third straight season that Louisiana has made the trip to Statesboro, with Louisiana winning the previous matchup at Hanner Fieldhouse, 58-48, on Feb. 10, 2018 and Louisiana holds a 3-1 record all-time in the historic gym.

All-time Louisiana leads the series with Georgia Southern 8-1, with the Ragin’ Cajuns having won the previous two meetings between the two programs.  Georgia Southern’s lone win came in Statesboro on Feb. 2, 2017, when the Eagles came away with a close 63-60 win.
